The whole domestic dispute between Jovan Belcher and his girlfriend is truly a tragedy. Too often this day in age we see people lose it, much like Belcher, but this was the first time in a while that a pro athlete was involved in something like this. Instead of just your every day Joe Schmo, this time it was someone looked up to as an idol, someone admired by people all over. A simple situation turned into effecting a whole team, a whole league, a whole city, and now is effecting people worldwide. Domestic disputes are something we should really look into giving more attention to as a society.
To kill yourself in front of your fellow coaches and front office staff is something that really hasn't occurred before in professional sports. I can just imagine the scar left on everyone involved of the image of Belcher killing himself. If i could ask Belcher one thing it would just be the simple question of "why"? Why put loved ones through something like this? Why put your teammates through something like this? And why would you put yourself through something like this?
